CHAPTER I - CONGRATULATIONS!
In this chapter you will learn how to express hopes and wishes to others and congratulate others for their fortune and achievement, in order to keep good personal relationship with them.
Example :
A : The winner of the rapping competition in this year is Basick. Congratulations Basick!
B : Thank you so much
A : I hope you can be a successful rapper. I wish you the best!
B : I hope so too, thank you so much sir. I'll do my best
There are other situations when you need to add a praise when you congratulate others for their success or achievement.
Example : " Wow, you're awesome! You win the first place in class, Congratulations! "
CHAPTER II - RIGHT WORDS AND EXPRESSIONS
In this chapter you will learn to use the right words and expressions to state rules, to give suggestions to do and not to do something, to invite someone to do and not to do something, to say to agree or disagree with rules, suggestions, and invitations, and to keep good interpersonal relationship.
You will learn how to give suggestions with modal verb 'should' and some other expressions. Ex:
- I think we should start our wall magazine
- We should plan it carefully
- We should go to people who know how to cook traditional foods
- We should think before we leap
After you learn how to give suggestions, now you will learn to state a strong necessity in rules. Ex :
- We must wear uniform everyday
- We must wear clothes properly
- We must not dye our hair
- We must not wear sandals during the school hours
When you read or hear a suggestion or a rule, you may disagree or agree with it. Ex :
- I disagree with you
- I don't think that is good idea
- I agree with you
- I think so
CHAPTER III - WHAT SHOULD I DO ?
In this chapter you will learn to tell or ask others to do and not to do something and also to state the purpose or intention to do it
Example :
- I think you have to take some rest in order to get well soon
- You need to drink a lot of water so that you will not get cough
- You should be more careful
- We must keep clean our class
- We must not play in the class while teacher is teaching
You have learned to tell someone not to do or to do something. Now you will learn to state the purpose of doing or not doing something.
Example :
- We need to have proper food to keep our body healthy
- Don't skip breakfast so that you will not faint during the flag ceremony
- You can jump rope everyday or swim in order to get ideal height
CHAPTER IV - LABEL ON PRODUCTS
In this chapter you will learn to choose healthy and save products, to avoid harmful effects, and to get the best result. You can't buy product if there is no label or information about the product because it can harms you, so now you will learn to choose product wisely by reading the labels.
You need to focus your attention only on the following facts :
- The name of the product
- The description about the product
- The content or amount of the product in the package
- The ingredients of the product
- The direction to use the product
- The direction to store the product
- The expiration date of the product
CHAPTER V - PROCEDURAL TEXT ( HOW YOU DO IT )
In this chapter you will learn to use and make recipes and manual to get the best result efficiently and to avoid accidents, damage, unnecessary waste.
I will lead you to reflect on what you are learning now, a recipe consists of three parts :
1. The goal of the recipe
2. The Ingredients, stating the materials needed to make the food/drink/things
3. The method, stating the steps to make the food/drink/things
CHAPTER VI - HOW TO COMMUNICATE ACTIVITES IN PROGRESS
In this chapter you will learn to communicate activities in progress at the time of speaking, at one point of time in the past, and at one point of time in the future, in order to share the information with others and to give an explanation.
You will know that the verb for an action in progress consists of two words, BE (in the right form for the subject) and the main verb in the last column.
To state an action in progress now, at the moment of speaking, the verb BE is in the form of is or are. To state an action in progress at a certain point of time in the past, the verb BE is in the form of was or were.
To state an action in progress at a certain point of time in the future, the verb BE is in the form of will.
CHAPTER VII - MESSAGE OF A SONG
In this chapter you will learn to get the message of a song that contains about life or love or friendship or etc. Example, an old song called ' Que Sera, Sera ' by Doris Day, is a song that sends a message that we have to be optimistic in life
